Panama City 2018

Panama – a pivot between two worlds.

Harvard WorldMUN 2018 gives students an opportunity to visit another continent and to see both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

In March 2018 the WorldMUN delegation of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena will travel to Panama, Latin America. The most internationally diverse college-level Model UN conference will take place in Panama City, the largest city in the country.

Founded on August 15, 1519 by the Spanish conquistador Pedro Arias Dí¡vila, Panama City has a diverse architecture that combines old colonial buildings with modern skyscrapers. The Panama Channel allows ships to get from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean and accounts for one third of Panama’s economy.

With a tropical climate typical for this part of the hemisphere, the city features a gigantic forest – the second largest in the western part of the continent and the only one in a capital city worldwide.
