These six students represented the Friedrich Schiller University in 2011 as the Delegation of Tanzania in Singapore.

Tina Beer, 23 years old, is studying political science at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in the first semester. In addition to the theoretical basics, this course also offers valuable practical experience, for example participating in WorldMUN. This simulation of a UN General Assembly, which is now taking place for the 20th time, is a unique opportunity for students to gain insight into international negotiations, to represent a country and its interests as a delegate, and to look for solutions to global problems together with 2,100 other participants. Tina combines her academic training with the support of foreign students at the FSU and her work with members of the German Bundestag. The former competitive athlete spends her free time with swimming and friends.

Janine Dersin, 23, is studying political science and intercultural business communication at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in the 7th semester. During her studies, she already attended numerous voluntary events and was actively involved in a working group on the "Election Campaign 2009" project for the Bundestag election. She works as a student assistant for the Chair of International Organizations and Globalization and as a tutor. Her strong interest in new countries, other people and cultures led her, among other things, to volunteer for several months in the field of nature conservation in New Zealand. In her free time she listens to a lot of music, loves to read crime novels, enjoys walking in Weimar and spends a lot of time with her friends. The WorldMUN enables her to get an unforgettable insight into international diplomacy and to get to know interesting things from politics and culture together with many new people from all over the world.

Franziska Gutzeit, 24 years old, has been studying political science, Romance studies (Spanish) and intercultural business communication at FSU-Jena since 2006. Her interest in other languages ​​and countries was sparked when she spent a school semester abroad in Canada for a year. After graduating from high school, she spent a few months in Ecuador, where she developed a fascination for the South American continent and for Romance languages. Since then there have been numerous trips to South America and Spain and a six-month study visit to Portugal. For this reason, she is primarily interested in Latin American politics and literature. In addition to her studies, she works as a translator for a Chilean-German project of Eine-Welt-Haus Jena e.V. and as an editor and translator for the intercultural university newspaper UNIQUE. WorldMUN is a unique opportunity for her to get real insights into diplomatic events, their problems and the special features of intercultural communication.

Jörg Hebenstreit, 23 years old, studies political science (M.A.) in the first semester at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. He completed his bachelor's degree in political science (core subject) and intercultural business communication (supplementary subject) with a thesis on the democratic theoretical potential of the Internet using the example of Obama's health care reform. In addition to his studies, he also works as a tutor at the Chair for Political Theory and as a student assistant at the Chair for International Management. His desire to travel and his interest in other cultures, which was further strengthened by studying at the IWK, keep drawing him to foreign countries. In his free time, he prefers to play handball and volleyball, go to concerts and spend a lot of time with his friends, music and literature. WorldMUN in Singapore offers him the opportunity to get a unique insight into international diplomacy and negotiation situations and, last but not least, to get to know interesting people from all cultures of the world. He is also looking forward to applying the theoretical knowledge of intercultural contexts in practice.

Stefan Pieper, 21, is studying political science and history at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in his third semester. In the second semester, he already took the "United Nations" module and took part in a UN simulation in which students from the FSU Jena took part. He has gained important experience in international organizations, primarily the UN itself, as well as in constant contact and negotiations with other people. The opportunity to take part in a UN simulation on an international level and to be able to travel to Singapore has prompted him to take part in WorldMUN. WorldMUN offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into international diplomacy and to gain important experience in this regard.

Romy Schulz, 26 years old, studies political science, law and intercultural business communication at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena in her 9th semester. During her studies, she already had the opportunity to spend a year abroad in Bournemouth, Great Britain, and a semester abroad in Athens, Greece, which brought her a little bit closer to her childhood dream of entering the diplomatic service. She discovered her enthusiasm for MUN simulations 3 years ago when she attended NMUN in New York for the first time. She is particularly looking forward to the WorldMUN in Singapore because she has never been to Asia. In addition to debating what she learned at Wortfechter e.V. Erfurt, her hobbies are traveling and photography.
